Use the hall to provide insight into your family personality and display photos, paintings, rugs or bold wallpaper. The hallway is also the first thing you see when you got home each day so make it refreshingly clear and uncluttered. Keep clutter out of the way using clever storage ideas.
Hall storage ideas
Hallways are the centre of the house where they can easily become cluttered space. It’s a great idea to make a daily resolution to put things away before they build up. Here are some top ideas:
- If this is where you keep coats and bags invest in some appropriate storage so you can keep it out of view;
- Immediately smarten up the hall and provide a small shelf for holding keys by installing a radiator cover and hiding electric boxes within a cupboard;
- Make the area as welcoming as possible – try to see the area through a visitor’s eyes and think about what you would like to see when you first step through the door;
- Stair baskets are a brilliant idea if you tend to leave piles at the bottom of the stairs;
- Bright paint colours always add some character to a room, including the hall.
